Aggregated Flash ManagementSMART innovative Aggregated Flash Management prolongs the life of SSDs by treating the flash elements as a system rather than as a collection of discrete elements. Aggregating the management of the flash over multiple pages within a block and over multiple blocks within the SSD reduces the limitations imposed at the page and block levels, thus extending the useful life of the drive.

Advanced Signal ProcessingDuring manufacturing, optimal flash operating parameters are programmed into the SSD. SMART Advanced Signal Processing technology continually monitors the flash and collects detailed statistics of its performance in order to dynamically adjust these parameters to attain maximum endurance from the drive throughout its operational life.
SMART DataGuard™ technology protects user data from corruption along all data paths in the SSD. Enhanced error detection and correction ensures the highest data integrity, while the F.R.A.M.E. (Flexible Redundant Array of Memory Elements) technology acts as a cross-die data redundancy feature that enables the recovery of user data even after catastrophic events such as flash page and block failure.
SMART EverGuard™ technology protects against the loss of user data in the event of unexpected power interruptions using a 3rd generation backup power circuit technology. EverGuard technology employs an array of high-reliability poly-tantalum capacitors that act as an independent power supply for the drive during power interruptions and ensures that all user and meta data across the data path is written to the flash.
The use of high-reliability discrete capacitors improves the overall reliability of the SSD design when compared to competing solutions. Unlike electrolytic super capacitors, discrete capacitors do not do not degrade over time or at elevated temperatures and ensure a reliable and safe operation throughout the warranted lifetime of SMART SSDs.
